CertiOwn Digital Infrastructure
CertiOwn provides high-integrity digital infrastructure for educational institutions to manage credentials, certificates, events, and administrative operations. The Service is offered to Institutions (colleges/universities) and their authorized Users (students, faculty, and staff).
Accounts are created for you by your onboarded Institution, or you register directly if permitted by your administrator. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and agree to provide accurate information. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. Onboarded institutions are responsible for ensuring that their registered Users comply with these Terms.
Subject to your specific institutional role and permissions (Student, Coordinator, HOD, Principal, Super Admin, etc.), you may use the Service to: issue, receive, and verify certificates; register for and manage events; and access ERP features made available to your role. All access levels are determined by your Institution and strictly enforced through role-based access control (RBAC).
You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, or systems not belonging to you; upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information (including issuing certificates for events/achievements that did not occur); interfere with or disrupt the Service (including through malware, scraping, or excessive automated requests); or reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the Service without our written permission.
Institutions using CertiOwn agree to: provide accurate information about students, staff, and events; obtain all necessary consents from students/staff for their data to be processed via CertiOwn; and use the platform in full compliance with applicable education and data protection laws.
Certificates issued via CertiOwn are generated based on data provided by the Institution. CertiOwn provides the infrastructure to issue, sign, and verify certificates but does not independently verify the accuracy of underlying academic or event data โ that responsibility lies entirely with the issuing Institution.
Our fees payment feature is not yet live. Once launched, payments will be processed through a third-party payment gateway, and additional terms specific to payments (refunds, failed transactions, etc.) will be added to these Terms before the feature becomes available.
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. As an early-stage platform, features may change, and we may release updates, fixes, or new functionality without prior notice. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes to Institutions.
Institutions retain ownership of the data they input into the platform (student records, event data, etc.). CertiOwn does not claim ownership over Institution or User data and will not use it beyond what is necessary to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Upon termination of an Institution's use of the Service, data handling will follow the retention/deletion terms described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if these Terms are violated, or if required by law. Institutions may terminate their use of the Service at any time by contacting us; data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.
The Service is provided "as is." As an early-stage platform, CertiOwn makes reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy and reliability but is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, to the maximum extent permitted by law. This does not limit liability where prohibited by applicable law (e.g., in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct).
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date above.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, regardless of where the Service's infrastructure is hosted.
Questions about these Terms can be sent via email to: campus@certiown.in.
